The Fabulous
New Standard D-25
15 minute flight experience
Carrying 4 passengers in
a large front open cockpit, the New Standard D-25 was instrumental
in introducing tens of thousands of people to their first airplane
ride, back when aviation was in its infancy.
Reservations for parties over 16 are required. We supply the helmets, goggles, and scarves;
you get to have all the fun! Maneuvers include lazy-eights,
steep and shallow 360 degree turns, and maybe even a few "whoopty-dos."
Flights in the New Standard D-25 last 15-18 minutes, and take guests on a ride where they can experience the sensations of flight in the open cockpit. See, smell, feel, and hear the experience for yourself from our front cockpit! A minimum of two guests must be in the aircraft for it to leave the ground, and a maximum of 4 guests can be accommodated on each flight. These flights are booked on a first come, first served basis.

The Legendary Boeing Stearman
30 minute hands on experience
Known as the PT-17/N2S3 or N2S, our 2-place
open cockpit biplanes have full controls in both front and
rear cockpits. This is the perfect aircraft to transport you
back in time to relive the excitement and challenge of piloting
the famous WWII trainer for a 30 minute flight experience.
(reservations suggested)
After you have received a preflight briefing we will go up
and perform some of the same maneuvers the cadets flew in WWII;
shallow and steep bank turns, lazy eights, chandelles, and
stalls, after which you’ll fly back to the home field
and shoot the pattern to land. Upon landing you can say "Mission
Accomplished, I flew the Stearman”

Flying in an open biplane is a lot like riding in a convertible.
We provide flying helmets and goggles to protect you from
the wind but you can expect it to be about 10 degrees cooler
during your flight than it is on the ground.
If you are going to fly the Stearman dress in comfortable
clothes (as you will have to climb in and out of the cockpit)
and soft soled shoes are recommended. Ladies no heels please.
Of course, just make sure it has a strap; we even sell disposable
cameras in case you forget yours. We do recommend that camera
bags and anything loose not be carried on board and we provide
storage bins for our passengers prior to their flight.
We love what we do and the only way we can continue to have
the best job in the world is to make safety our number one
priority. All our pilots hold either FAA Commercial or Airline
Transport Pilot Certificates and have extensive training
with decades of experience as owner/operators of their aircraft.
What is just as important as flight experience is our pilots’ passion
for biplanes and the history they represent. We get to share
the thrill of open cockpit flight everyday with our customers,
and that is truly a dream come true.
As you will see, our airplanes are beautifully restored
and impeccably maintained. Our own FAA certified Airframe
and Powerplant (A&P) mechanic also hold the FAA Authorized
Inspector (AI) certificate and meticulously maintains all
of our aircraft. All planes have regular 25 hour, 50 hour,
and 100 hour inspections
as required. It is important to note that the maintenance
and inspection of the airplanes is conducted by a person
who knows them well.
We try to make this as safe as possible but flying has some
risk associated with it, though we think it’s worth
it.
We will do our best to get anyone in the aircraft if we
possibly can. In the biplanes you'll need to be able to get
up on a wing that's about two feet above the ground and then
into the cockpit. We can help you some but we can’t
do it all. It is best to call and tell us your situation
and we will do whatever we can to help.
There are certain weather conditions we cannot fly in, but
in Florida the weather is always changing. Give us a call
just before you leave the house or hotel to confirm your
flight.
We'll give you a gentle ride unless you ask for something
a bit more exciting. While we do not offer aerobatics, if
you’re a daredevil at heart, we can give you plenty
of thrills without going upside down.
Being “open-cockpit” biplanes there are no height
limitation for either the Stearman or the New Standard D25.
Both aircraft have gross weight limitations but just as important
is the limit of the seat belts. If you are particularly wide
around the middle our belts may not be able to accommodate
you. Also getting into the planes takes some dexterity. Best
thing if you’re worried about size and weigh over 240
pounds is to call or come in for a trial fitting.
